About Our Initiative

For more than six decades, this personal blog has preserved a remarkable literary and legal legacy through podcasts, videos, and archival storytelling. Rooted in Chicago's publishing history since 1960, it honors a fearless stand against censorship and celebrates a lifetime devoted to poetry, free expression, and cultural impact.

This is an attempt to honor a man, after 100 years, who beat censorship, published new poets, established poetry institutions, and wrote so many poems archived at the University of Chicago. He also interviewed Norman Mailer, Allen Ginsberg and Andy Warhol for Playboy Magazine
